Join fellow Arlington Club members for a special weekend in Astoria centered around one of the Pacific Northwest's most important cultural institutions: the Columbia River Maritime Museum.

While many members may have visited the museum in the past, this weekend offers something entirely different!

CRMM is in the midst of a remarkable transformation, including the creation of Mariners Hall, a spectacular new exhibition and education space that will redefine the visitor experience for generations to come. Through special access arranged exclusively for our group, we'll have the opportunity to learn about the project firsthand, hear directly from leadership, and enjoy behind-the-scenes experiences not typically available to the public. We also expect to preview portions of the Mariners Hall transformation before its official public opening!

In addition, we'll explore the story behind the historic Fireboat David Campbell, a 1927 Portland fireboat that protected riverfront industries and shipping traffic for nearly a century and is now being preserved as a permanent exhibit. The project represents an exciting new chapter and an important addition to the region's maritime heritage.

Throughout the weekend, we'll enjoy engaging conversations from leadership, guided experiences, hosted lunches and dinners, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow Arlington Club members.

Whether you're fascinated by maritime history, curious about the museum's future, or simply looking forward to spending time with friends in one of the Pacific Northwest's most charming coastal communities, this promises to be a memorable, exclusive, and behind-the-scenes experience!

We've designed this program to fit a variety of travel styles.

Choose the full weekend experience with a two-night stay at the award-winning Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa, beautifully situated on the Columbia River waterfront. Relax in one of Astoria's most distinctive properties while enjoying easy access to the weekend's activities, dining experiences, and museum programming.

For those seeking additional space, a limited number of suites may be available at the hotel. Please contact us for current pricing and availability. Guests interested in arriving a day early or extending their stay after the program are also welcome to inquire about additional nights at our special group rate, subject to availability.

Prefer to make your own lodging arrangements or live nearby? A program-only option is also available, allowing you to participate in the museum experiences, presentations, tours, lunches, and dinners without overnight accommodations.

Whichever option you choose, you'll enjoy the same exclusive access, behind-the-scenes experiences, educational programming, hosted meals, and opportunities to connect with fellow Arlington Club members throughout the weekend.

Payment & Cancellation Policy

Full payment is due at the time of registration. Included in the package price is a $175 per person non-refundable professional program management fee.

Because this program involves advance contractual commitments and limited availability, all payments are non-refundable once registered. We encourage guests to purchase travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances.

• Package pricing is based on a minimum of 18 participants. If participation falls below this level, a small supplemental charge may be required to offset fixed program costs. Guests will be notified in advance should an adjustment become necessary.

12:00 PM – Welcome Lunch & Museum Presentation
Gather at the Columbia River Maritime Museum for a hosted lunch and special conversation by Bruce Jones, Executive Director of Columbia River Maritime Museum. Learn about the museum's remarkable transformation, including the creation of Mariners Hall, the preservation of the historic Fireboat David Campbell, and the vision for the future of one of the Pacific Northwest's most important cultural institutions.

1:30 PM – Exclusive Access Experience
Following lunch, enjoy special access not yet available to the public, including behind-the-scenes visits to the Maritime Heritage Resource Center and Boat Hall.

4:00 PM - Check in at the Cannery Pier Hotel

6:30 PM – Group Dinner at Bridgewater Bistro
Join fellow Arlington Club members for a hosted dinner featuring great food, conversation, and the opportunity to reflect on the day's discoveries.

9:30 AM – Museum Exploration & Guided Experiences
Meet at the Columbia River Maritime Museum for a deeper look into the region's rich maritime history. The day includes guided visits through several of the museum's most significant exhibits and preservation projects, including the historic Klep and Warnock Buildings, the newly acquired Fireboat David Campbell, and the iconic Lightship Columbia, one of the last remaining lightships in the United States. Along the way, hear stories of the mariners, shipbuilders, and working waterfront that shaped the Columbia River and Pacific Northwest.

12:30 PM – Hosted Lunch
Enjoy a hosted lunch. Additional opportunities for conversation, questions, and exploration will be available throughout the day.

Afternoon – Enjoy Astoria at Your Own Pace
The afternoon is yours to enjoy. Relax and explore Astoria on your own, reserve a tee time at the Astoria Golf & Country Club with fellow member Dan Vollum or join Mike Henningsen for a scenic hike through nearby Cape Disappointment State Park (weather permitting).

5:00 PM – Hosted Cocktail Gathering
Join fellow Arlington Club member Helena Lankton for a hosted cocktail gathering at her beautiful home in Gearhart, the Gin Ridge neighborhood, for an opportunity to relax, reconnect, and enjoy the company of fellow travelers before dinner.

Afternoon – explore on your own!

6:30 PM - Dinner
Gather for a hosted dinner. Enjoy an evening of good food, conversation, and reflections on a memorable weekend of discovery.

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Astoria before departing at your own pace. You may even consider reserving a tee time at the Astoria Golf & Country Club with fellow member Helena Lankton.
