With cabins designed for 2, 4, or 6 guests, it's the perfect place to unplug, reconnect, and create lasting memories together.
Surrounded by towering evergreens, crystal-clear waters, and miles of pristine wilderness, you'll have the opportunity to fly fish one of the country's most celebrated rivers, hike through old-growth forests, soak in nearby hot springs or many of the rivers swimming holes, enjoy a massage, or relax on your cabin deck listening to the river. The inn's acclaimed farm-to-table dining showcases seasonal Northwest ingredients, making every meal an experience of its own.
One of the things that makes Steamboat Inn so special is what it doesn't have. There is no Wi-Fi, no television, and little to no cellular service. An intentional choice by the inn to encourage guests to disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature, meaningful conversation, and one another.
This exclusive Arlington Club retreat has been designed to balance optional activities with plenty of free time to enjoy the property at your own pace. Whether you're an avid fly fisher, an outdoor enthusiast, traveling with family, or simply looking for a peaceful escape, you'll discover why Steamboat Inn has been a beloved destination for generations.

Whether you're seeking adventure or simply looking to unwind, the North Umpqua River region offers something for everyone. Below are some of our favorite activities and experiences to help you make the most of your time at Steamboat Inn. Some will be organized as optional group outings, while others are perfect for exploring at your own pace.
Steamboat Inn sits directly above the Camp Water, a series of iconic pools and runs that have been angling lore since the early 20th century. Walk to water access with old growth Douglas firs, misty mornings and jade-green water.
Steamboat Inn in Southern Oregon offers guided whitewater rafting and kayaking on the North Umpqua River, one of Oregon’s most exciting and less crowded river trips. The North Umpqua is known for its clear, cold, snowmelt-fed water and frequent Class II and III rapids, delivering a lively, engaging experience without being overwhelming.
Over 70 miles of continuous hiking along the North Umpqua River through old growth forest and alongside wild, clear waters. The atmosphere is immersive hiking in one of Oregon’s most pristine landscapes with shades of forest, trails, suspension bridges and varied terrain with both easy and challenging sections. Download the trail map here.
The surrounding trails offer a rugged, backcountry-style riding experience through old-growth forest, steep grades, and sustained climbs. Expect technical sections with narrow, sometimes exposed single-track, natural surfaces (roots, rocks, uneven ground), and minimal signage in more remote areas. This is not beginner-friendly, riders should be comfortable with self-supported, skill-based riding.
Umpqua Hot Springs
Perched on a dramatic travertine terrace high above the North Umpqua River, Umpqua Hot Springs, also known as Toketee Hot Springs, is a collection of geothermal pools nestled beneath a lush forest canopy.
On warm summer days, the North Umpqua River offers plenty of opportunities to cool off. Throughout the river corridor you'll find calm pools, gravel bars, and natural swimming holes where you can take a refreshing dip or simply relax along the riverbank. Many of the area's spectacular waterfalls also feature beautiful pools at their base, making them ideal spots to pause, picnic, and enjoy the scenery.
Steamboat Inn sits right in the heart of Oregon’s “Highway of Waterfalls” (Umpqua River Highway 138), making it one of the most concentrated waterfall destinations in the Pacific Northwest. The Inn’s location means you can explore dozens of cascades without long drive, many are just a short walk or easy access from the property.
For those staying in the cottages or Campwater Houses, the lawns and outdoor gathering areas are perfect for slowing down and enjoying time together. Set up a game of bocce, cornhole, ladder toss, or croquet, let the kids run and play, or simply relax with family and friends while taking in the peaceful surroundings.
