Settle into a 7-day, all-inclusive Belmond barge journey through Burgundy, where unhurried river days meet quietly exquisite comforts. Sailing in tandem aboard the four-cabin Amaryllis and Lilas (same luxury standard), you’ll enjoy en-suite cabins, a private chef with open bar, a heated plunge pool, bicycles, and curated daily excursions—vineyards, historic towns, local markets, and artisan tastings. With an ultra-intimate group of 16, the experience stays personal, relaxed, and deeply immersive. Routes and moorings will be confirmed closer to departure; the signature on-board Belmond experience remains the constant.

How the pre-sale works
Deposit at booking: 25% non-refundable per person + €150 pp administrative/planning fee (non-refundable).
Belmond will confirm routing (Southern or Northern Route) in December 2025. (See below)
Once confirmed, final remaining payment is due February 1, 2027.
This itinerary begins in Lyon and concludes in Saint-Jean-de-Losne.
High-speed TGV train transfers from Paris to Burgundy are included (afternoon departure) as part of the program, making travel via Paris seamless and comfortable. Guests may choose to fly directly into Lyon, which offers frequent nonstop and one-stop international connections, or travel via Paris, with convenient onward rail service.
At the conclusion of the cruise, group transfers and TGV service back toward Paris are also included, providing flexibility for onward international flights or extended stays.
Please note: regardless of whether you arrive via Lyon or Paris, we will simply need your final flight and/or train details in advance so they can be shared with the barge crew to ensure smooth embarkation in Lyon and coordinated transfers at the end of the journey.

Each vessel features four beautifully appointed en-suite cabins designed for comfort and elegance. All cabins include:
King bed (convertible to twin configuration)
Private bathroom with twin sinks
L’Occitane toiletries, robes, slippers, and towels
Individually controlled air-conditioning and heating
Armchairs, writing desk, wardrobe, hairdryer, and in-room safe
Aboard Amaryllis or Lilas, you’ll find the same elevated experience:
Heated plunge pool (approx. 13' x 13', up to 6'5" deep)

Gratuities are not included and are at guest discretion.
Mobile phone use is welcome; please be mindful of fellow guests.

Attire is relaxed by day; smart-casual is appropriate for dinners (no formalwear required).
Early fall in Burgundy can be cool—pack layers (sweater/jacket) and a raincoat or umbrella.

Luggage Note:
Due to limited cabin storage aboard the barge, guests are kindly asked to pack one medium-sized suitcase per person, along with a small carry-on or day bag. Luggage handling is included during group transfers, and bags will be transferred for you between trains, vehicles, and the barge as needed.

You’re welcomed aboard in Lyon by your private crew and guide. Toast the start of your Burgundy journey with chilled champagne and settle into your cabin. This evening, enjoy your first gourmet dinner on board as the barge begins its journey along the River Saône

After breakfast, enjoy a guided visit of Lyon—discover the Old Town, hidden passageways (traboules), Roman ruins, murals, and panoramic views from Fourvière. Return to the barge for lunch, then relax on deck as you cruise north to Montmerle, where you moor for the night. Dinner on board.

Enjoy a restful morning on board and take in the scenery of southern Burgundy. After lunch, dock in Mâcon and visit a charming winery in the Pouilly-Fuissé region for a tasting. Return to the barge and cruise on to Tournus. Upon arrival, explore the beautiful Saint-Philibert Abbey. Dinner at a local restaurant.

Cruise this morning to Chalon-sur-Saône. Enjoy lunch at a delightful local restaurant, then spend the afternoon in Beaune, the capital of Burgundy wine country. Visit the historic Hôtel-Dieu and enjoy a tasting at Joseph Drouhin. Return to the barge for dinner on board.

Soak up the French countryside during a leisurely morning cruise. After lunch on board, depart for an afternoon along the celebrated Route des Grands Crus, including a visit to the historic Clos de Vougeot. Continue to a private wine tasting with a respected local producer, then return to the barge for dinner under the stars.

After breakfast, disembark with your guide to visit Dijon, former capital of the Duchy of Burgundy. Enjoy a walking tour of the compact historic center, see the Ducal Palace, browse the covered market, and stop at the famous Maille mustard shop. There’s free time for shopping and lunch before you rejoin the barge. Later, enjoy your final cruise toward St-Jean-de-Losne and a relaxed evening on board.

After breakfast, bid farewell to the Belmond Lilas crew and disembark in St-Jean-de-Losne. Transfers are arranged for onward travel (often via Dijon, with high-speed TGV connections to Paris or other destinations), with assistance provided for a smooth departure.
